A recent interview with some of the oldest school Nintendo gods releases some interesting info about the Punch-Out games.
It dicusses some good background on the process of making the classic titles. But it also talks about how they never officially got permission to use Mario as the classic gibberish speaking ref in the original NES title. Which attributes a little to why it doesn't look 'quite right'.
Also a 22 year old game tip for defeating Bald Bull is finally let loose. Time to update those gamefaqs!
