Earthworm Jim to get HD treatment

Earthworm Jim, everybody's favorite 16-bit invertebrate, is coming back. Unfortunately not in a full blown sequel, but instead is getting a HD remake made available for current consoles. The game will be based on the Sega Genesis version, but will also include the "Big Bruty" level from the Sega CD/PC versions.

Although we will need to see more than part of a single screen shot to make a real decision on the game, parts of the released shot may cause some worry. Jim looks great, but some details in the background seem to of lost something. And that log just plain looks out of place in the remake.

Earthworm Jim will be rocking on Xbox Live Arcade first later this year, followed by the PSN and WiiWare releases a month later.
