Um, wtf is the title of this post? Dreamcast?... as in... Sega Dreamcast sold from 1998-2001? YUP, welcome to Rush Rush Rally Racing - to be released on the eve of Dreamcast's 10 year launch reunion in North America.
I have no idea what would inspire someone to actually try to publish a new game (illegally?) on a 10 year old, expired console. According to the developers' site, "Rush Rush Rally Racing is an old school 2D racing game for SEGA Dreamcast. No sponsored cars, no realistic environments - just plain old fun!" ... I got nothin'
The game is currently available for preorder at redspotgames online store, however they warn:
"This game is region-free: Runs on every PAL, NTSC-US and NTSC-J Dreamcast.
This is a CD-ROM based product and might not be compatible with some NTSC-J
Dreamcast™ consoles built after October 2000. Please check the manufacture date on
the back of your console before."
... Good to know, I'll be sure to drag the dreamcast I never owned out of the closet to make sure I'm eligible to enjoy a game that can likely be dwarfed by something playable in a browser window. Comments?

Never owning a Dreamcast = FAIL
ReplyDeleteOh, and happy 10 year North American birthday Dreamcast.
ReplyDelete:-( Sorry?
ReplyDeleteWTF... why the hell would anybody make a game for a 10 year old system. Wouldn't it have been easier 9and more profitable) to release as a DLC game for XBLA, or PSN? I really dont wanna have to dig out my DC from the tomb... its probably filth and I dont even know if it still works...
