Counter-Strike creator readies his new baby

Minh "Gooseman" Le, the co-creator of one of the most played online games worldwide ever, Counter-Strike, is working on a brand new game. And it's not CS2. Le left Valve awhile back because of constant pressure from them to create a sequel, you can imagine the expectations an employer would demand from you to try and "1-up" one of the most played shooters of all time. When Le wanted something else, he wanted his own game. He wanted to implement things that he could never do with Counter-Strike because the fan base wouldn't allow it. CS players are a lot like old men, they don't like change, they want it all like it has been for years, and they don't want you on their lawn. Heck even when Counter-Strike: Source was released, the hardest of hardcore refused to upgrade to the better graphics and better physics, and still (to this day) have clung on to the old CS 1.6.

Anyways, Le is on to bigger (and hopefully) better things. His new IP is entitled Tactical Intervention. The same basic formula as Counter-Strike is there, so it's agents vs terrorists. But new twists are being included, such as civilians (who can be used as human shields by terrorists), and attack dogs. Hit up IGN for more from the interview.

Tactical Intervention is about ready to go into beta, with hopes of being released by the end of the year.
